Genocidal Rites are a band from Ohio that plays an anti Abrahamic and bestial form of war/black metal and this is a review of their self released 2021 demo "Unholy Live Ritual".
A very dark, distorted yet heavy sound starts off the demo while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking, brutal blast beats and war metal elements can be heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very chaotic style while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams. The songs only add in a small amount of mid tempo or slow sections focusing more on a faster style along with the music also adding some bestial growls on the second song and the whole demo also sticks to a very raw, heavy and brutal musical direction.
Genocidal Rites plays a style of war metal that is very raw and bestial sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Darkness, blasphemy and Anti Abrahamic themes.
In my opinion Genocidal Rites are a very great sounding bestial war metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Putrid Winds Of Mass Graves". 8 out of 10.
