Greece's solo project Sulferon has returned with a new recording which continues the satanic and occult style of black metal from his previous releases and this is a review of his 2021 album "Carlesti Irrumator" which was released by Sleaszy Rider Records.
Horror movie style synths start off the album along with some spoken word samples a few seconds later which also return on later tracks before going into a heavier direction. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
The vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them along with the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as one song also being a cover of Marduk's "Throne of Rats".
The music also adds in a great amount of old school influences as well as keeping everything modern at the same time. One song also adds in a brief use of classical guitars as well as a couple of tracks also being long and epic in length and as the album progresses a brief use of clear vocals, whispers and clean playing can also be heard. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cove r Satanism, Occultism and Anti Christianity themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sulferon and if you are a fan of occult and satanic black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Christcunt" "Halo Of Shit" and "Blessed By Satan Himself". 8 out of 10.
