Antichrist Siege Machine are a duo from Richmond, Virginia that plays a mixture of war and bestial black/death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Schism Perpetration" which will be released in August as a joint effort between Krucyator Productions and Stygian Black Hand.
War orientated soundscapes start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction which also introduces black metal screams onto the recording. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw war metal feeling.
Bestial growls can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording along with the riffs only using a small amount of dark sounding melodies. Throughout the album you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, some of the slow riffing has a touch of early 90's doom/death metal.
When guitar solos and leads are finally brought onto the recording they are also done in a very chaotic style and as the album progresses a white noise orientated soundscape can also be heard briefly before on a couple of tracks returning back to a brutal war metal direction. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism and Warfare themes.
In my opinion Antichrist Siege Machine are a very great sounding mixture of war and bestial black/death metal and if you ate a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Incinerated Enemy" "Hell Fire Reign" "Schism Perpetration" and "Utopian Hope". 8 out of 10.
