Derkaz are a solo project from Australia that plays a very bestial form of black/death metal and this is a review of his self released 2019 demo "23: 58".
A very dark sound starts off the demo along with some bestial growls a few seconds later while the music also brings in a very lo-fi atmosphere. When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw war metal feeling.
At times the music also gets very cavernous sounding along with the only track on this demo being over 8 minutes in length. The song also brings in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the music sticks to a heavier direction as well as adding in a brief use of guitar leads.
Derkaz plays a style of black/death metal that is very cavernous and bestial sounding along with some touches of war metal. The production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover apocalyptic themes.
In my opinion Derkaz are a very great sounding bestial black/death metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t his demo. 8 out of 10.
