Tableau Mort are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a brutal, technical and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Veil Of Stigmata BOOK I: Mark Of Delusion" which was released by Loud Rage Music.
Horror movie orientated keyboards start off the album before going into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction. The music also mixes both the heavier and atmospheric parts together at times while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The music also mixes in some elements of Romanian Orthodox church music as well as a couple of the tracks being long and epic in length.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic style as well as the music also having its technical moments. Choirs can also be heard in some parts of the music along with one track also introducing death metal growls onto the recording and some of the slower riffing also shows an influence of doom metal, as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing can be heard on a couple of tracks and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Romanian Orthodoxy themes.
In my opinion Tableau Mort are a very great sounding brutal, technical and atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fall Of Man" "Tapestry Sewn" and "Beyond His Gaze". 8 out of 10.
