Poroniec are a duo from Poland that plays a classic form of black metal with some avant garde structures and this is a review of their self released 2019 demo.
Avant garde style keyboards start off the demo before going into more of a heavier and melodic direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with the music also bringing in a decent amount of dissonant structures and the vocals are done in more of a deep black emtal scene as well as some growls.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the songs more of a raw feeling while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and keyboards are also used on the later tracks as well as the music also bringing in a good mixture of both old school and modern influences and clean vocals can also be heard briefly on the closing track.
Poreniec plays a style of black metal that is very traditional sounding while also adding in some of the more modern avant garde and dissonant style to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover existential nihilism themes.
In my opinion Porniec are a very great sounding classic black metal duo with some avant garde elements and if you are a fan of t his musical genres, you should check out t his demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Codziennosci". 8 out of 10.
