Aludra are a duo from Oklahoma that plays a very raw and cosmic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Mass Stellar Graves" which will be released on August 30th by Akashic Envoy Records.
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black emtal s creams while the music also brings in a great amount of 90's influences.
A couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length while clean playing can also be heard at times. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the music also having its atmospheric moments and synths can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and as the album progresses some modern influences can also be heard and one of the tracks is also an instrumental.
Aludra plays a style of black metal that is very raw and cosmic sounding. The production sounds very dark, raw, old school and lo-fi while the lyrics are a concept album based upon black holes and rips in the fabric of space.
In my opinion Aludra are a very great sounding raw and cosmic black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Coma B" and "Mass Stellar Graves". 8 out of 10.
