Imperium Dekadenz are a and from Germany that plays a melodic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "When We Are Forgotten" which will be released on August 30th by Napalm Records.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album while a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black emtal screams along with the music also getting very atmospheric sounding at times and clean vocals can also be heard in certain sections of the recording.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style along with the faster sections of the songs also bringing in a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Some songs also add in a small amount of clean playing as well as one track also introducing spoken word parts onto the recording and as the album progresses synths are also added into some parts of the recording, there are also a few instrumentals as well as one of them also adding in a small amount of classical guitars. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover anger, loneliness, melancholy and pure destruction themes.
In my opinion Imperium Dekadenz are a very great sounding melodic and atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t his album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "When We Are Forgotten" "A Cave Called Wisdon" and "Frozen In Time". 8 out of 10.
