Caput Mortum/Summon Of The Heathen Wrath/Necro Altar Productions/2019 EP Review

  Caput  Mortum  are  a  duo  from  Peru  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  pagan  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019 ep  "Summon  The  heathen  Wrath"  which  was  released  by  Necro  Altar  Productions.

  Nature  sounds  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  folk  instruments  a  few  seconds  later  that  go  back  to  the  pre  Hispanic  days  of  South  America  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  music  also  getting  very  ritualistic  sounding  briefly  on  the  first  track  as  well  as  a  speed  amount  of  spoken  word  parts.

  Clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  on  one  of  the  tracks  while  the  music  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences.  Synths  are  also  added  into  some  parts  of  the  recording  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts..

  Caput  Mortum  plays  a  style  of  pagan  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  old  school  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  the  pagan  traditions,  folklore  and  mythology  of the  Andes  people  from  South  America  along  with  a  hatred  for  the  Judeo  Christian  faiths..

  In  my  opinion  Caput  Mortum  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  pagan  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Bloody  Shield  of  The  Sun".  8  out  of  10.
