Vegard are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Call From The Forest"which was released by UKEM Records.
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the album along with some classical guitars a few seconds later. The atmospheric elements are also mixed into the heavier sections of the music while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams as well as some of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style as a couple of the tracks being brief interludes. while the synths also give the music more of an epic atmosphere and as the album progresses a brief use of nature sounds can also be heard and all of the songs stick to a slower direction, all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to the,.
Vegard plays a style of black metal that is very slow, atmospheric and synth orientated. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Nature and Paganism themes.
In my opinion Vegard are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Call From The Forest" and "In Moonrise... (Shadow Realms)". 8 out of 10.
