Pierre Noir/The Wolf Is At Home/Grabaciones Autobombo/2019 EP Review

  Pierre  Noir  are  a  solo  project  from  Spain  that  has  recently  been  featured  on  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  mixture  of  raw  black  metal,  industrial  and  techno  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2019  ep "The  Wolf  Is  At  Home"  which  was  released  by  Grabaciones  Autobombo.

  A  very  distorted  sound  starts  off  the  ep  before  going  into  more  of  a  heavier  and  melodic  direction  along  with  both  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  Programmed  beats  are  also  a  very  huge  part  of  the  recording  along  with  some  melodic  guitar  leads  being  used  briefly.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  they  give  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  black  metal  feeling  while  elements  of  industrial  and  techno  are  also  mixed  into  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music.  Spoken  word  samples  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  some  tortured  voices  and  grim  screams  also  being  utilized  at  times  and  most  of  the  music  sticks  to  more  of  a  mid  tempo  direction.

  On  this  recording  Pierre  Noir  takes  raw  black  metal,  industrial  and  techno  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  anti  capitalism  and  political  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Pierre  Noir  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  black  metal,  industrial  and  techno,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "The  Wolf  Is  At  Home".  8  out  of  10.
