Invunche are a band with members from the Netherlands and Chile that plays a mixture of black metal, primitive punk and psychedelic rock and this is a review of their 2018 album "II" which will be re-issued on vinyl in October, 2019 by Babylon Doom Cult Records.
Ambient sounding synths start off the album before going into more of a heavier punk and d beat influenced direction which also introduces grim black metal screams onto the recording along with the music also bringing in influences from the 90's second wave era and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Elements of psychedelic and surf rock are also added into some parts of the music while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Most of the tracks are also very short in length as well as the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses a brief use of percussion and flutes can be heard which also gives the music more of a shamanistic feeling.
Invunche plays a musical style that takes black metal, primitive punk and psychedelic rock and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Dutch and cover shamanism themes.
In my opinion Invunche are a very great sounding mixture of black metal, primitive punk and psychedelic rock and if you are a fan of those musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ciudad" "Asfalto" "Entre el mar y la montana" and "El wekufe". 8 out of 10.
