This is a review of another recording from Sweden's Armagedda which is also done in a very raw and old school black metal style and the album was originally released in 2003 and called "Only True Believers" which also show the drums being played by Eric Danielsson of Watain and the re-issue will be released in October by Nordvis Produktion.
Spoken word parts start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are all grim sounding black metal screams while the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's second wave style.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very raw and chaotic style along with the riffing also adding in a small amount of dark sounding melodies at times. The songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them and as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing and synths can also be heard and one of the tracks is an instrumental.
On this recording Armagedda remain true to the raw and old school style of black emtal that was established on previous releases. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover occultism and anti Christianity themes.
In my opinion this was another great sounding recording from Armagedda and if you are a fan of raw and old school black metal,you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Refuse The Blood Of Jesus" "For I Am His Slave" "Demons" and "Night Of The Triumphator". 8 out of 10.
