Venereal Baptism are a duo from Texas that plays a mixture of black, war and death metal metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Repugnant Coronation Of The Beast" which will be released on September 27th by Osmose Productions.
Spoken word samples start off the album before going into a very fast, raw and brutal war metal direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals also bring in a mixture of bestial growls and black metal screams and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are done in a very chaotic style. A great amount of 90's influences can be heard in the bands musical style but done in a more modern and brutal style and as the album progresses a brief use of ritualistic soundscapes, chanting and war can be heard before returning back to a heavier direction and some of the riffing also adds in a brief use of open note riffs and at times a touch of grindcore can be heard briefly.
Venereal Baptism plays a musical style that takes war, black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover Satanism, Blasphemy and anti SJW themes.
In my opinion Venereal Baptism are a very great sounding mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "To Castrate Angelic Grace" "Repugnant Coronation Of The Beast" "Unfuckable Pacifist Gutterslut" and "Aborted At the Foulest Pit of Hell". 8 out of 10.
