This is a review of another recording from Frostbitten with the musical style this time around being raw and primitive sounding occult black metal while still utilizing some doom and stoner rock elements with the album being self released in 2013 and called "We Feared The Wrath Of Lord Lucifer".
"Nacht und Nebel" begins with some soft acoustic guitars which utilize finger picking and serves as an intro for the album.
"The Winds No Longer Guide Me" begins with blast beats and primitive black metal guitar riffs along with some grim sounding screams kicking in shortly after that and the song stays in an old school black metal direction till the end.
"Descention To A Greater Evil" begins with some dark and primitive black metal guitar riffs which get alot faster and bring in some drums and high pitched screams and after awhile there is a brief use of blast beats being utilized before going into a slower direction but utilizing some melody for a few seconds before reverting back to its more fast and primitive roots.
"The Hooded Robe" begins with some slow black/doom metal style guitar riffs and drums which lead to some melodic clean singing vocals and the song stays in the same musical direction for its entire 9 minutes.
"Conjuration" begins with some dark and melodic guitar riffs along with some drums kicking in shortly after that and a few seconds later black metal screams become a part of the song and as time goes by the music gets more aggressive and primitive sounding.
"The Devil's Music" begins with some powerful bass guitars as w ell as some acoustic guitars being thrown into the mix that utilize finger picking and full chords with the song being an instrumental under 2 minutes.
"Lord Lucifer" begins with some dark and primitive black metal guitar riffs along with some drums a few seconds later which lead to t he song going into a more raw and fast direction along with some grim sounding vocals and blast beats and as time goes by the song gets more old school, aggressive and primitive sounding in the early 90's direction and then slowing down and bringing some some acoustic guitars which utilize both finger picking and full chords for awhile before reverting back to is heavy and primitive riffs but bringing in some melodic clean singing vocals and closing t he album with some doom metal style guitar riffs.
Songs lyrics cover Occultism, Darkness, Left Hand Path, and Luciferian themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Frostbitten and if you are a fan of raw and primitive occult black metal with some elements of doom metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Winds No Longer Guide Me" "The Hooded Robe" and "Lord Lucifer". RECOMMENDED BUY.
