Orhoro are a duo from Italy that plays a mixture of black metal and crust and this is a review of their self released 2013 demo.
"Untitled I" begins with some dark black metal guitar riffs and drums which lead to some blackened crust style vocals and as time moves by the riffing starts utilizing more primitive elements and the song switches back and forth between slow and fast parts.
"Untitled II" begins with some primitive black metal guitar riffing and drums and after awhile it heads more into a slow direction with the drumming utilizing some punk beats as well as switching back and forth between slow and fast parts which leads to the blackened crust growls making their presence known in the song and the song closes with some tribal drums.
Untitled II" begins with some melodic black metal guitar riffing and drums setting up the mood for some crust style vocals as well as a brief use of black metal screams and after awhile the music speeds up a bit.
Song lyrics cover dark themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the songs being recorded live.
In my opinion Orhoro are a very great sounding hybrid of black metal and crust and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Untitled II". RECOMMENDED BUY.
