Arcane Marrow are a band from Tennessee that plays a raw, primordial, and cave-dwelling form of black metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "The Elders Present To Me" which will be released in July by Moonlight Cypress Archives.
Dark soundscapes start off the album which also add in some touches of harsh noise before introducing black metal screams onto the recording which also takes the music into a heavier direction. During the faster sections of the songs a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling.
The songs also add in a great amount of 90's second wave influences while the music also adds in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they also remain true to a raw and melodic direction which also captures a retro vibe at times along with all of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing as well as all of the music also sticking to a heavier direction.
Arcane Marrow plays a style of black metal that is very raw and always aggressive sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Neanderthal, Caves, Pre-History and Mysticism themes.
In my opinion Arcane Marrow are a very great sounding raw, primordial and cave-dwelling black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nocturnal Neanderthal Mysticism" and "All Enveloping Black harmony". 8 out of 10.
