Reproach are a duo from the Southern United States that plays an old school form of black emtal with some elements of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2021 ep "The Book Of Names" which will be released on June 4th by Ritual Abuse Hysteria.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the ep while all of the drum beats are also programmed along with some death emtal growls also being utilized at times. Black metal screams are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
Dark sounding melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the riffs also add in elements of thrash metal. When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the music also being heavily rooted in the early 90's era as well as the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Reproach plays a style of black metal that is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era as well as mixing in some elements of death and thrash metal to create a sound of their. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Reproach are a very great sounding old school mixture of black, death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Seek The Blood Of Thy Enemies" and "Treacheries Of The Ignorant". 8 out of 10.
