Tristwood are a band from Austria that plays an industrial form of black metal with some elements of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2020 album "Blackcrowned Majesty" which will be released after the COVID 19 pandemic is over.
Atmospheric sounding keyboards start off the album while also introducing elements of industrial onto the recording which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with the vocals being mostly black metal screams.
When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the songs more of a raw feeling while the music also adds in a great amount of programmed beats. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some death metal growls also being utilized at times.a small amount of melody can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Tristwood plays a musical style that takes industrial, black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very powerful for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover agnosticism and war themes.
In my opinion Tristwood are a very great sounding mixture of industrial, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "He Who Traversed A Greater Oblivion" "The Fall of Ruatha's Fate" and "Bone Cathedral". 8 out of 10.
