Netherlands's solo project has returned with a new recording which continues the experimental mixture of black metal and noise from their previous releases and this is a review of their 2020 album "I Speak The Truth, Yet With Every Word Uttered, Thousands Die" which was released by Consouling Sounds.
Experimental soundscapes start off the album while also capturing a very lo-fi atmosphere while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams. All of the drum beats are also programmed which also gives the songs more of an industrial feeling along with the music also adding in a great amount of noise elements.
Powerful sounding bass and disgusting frequencies are also added into some parts of the recording. Spoken word samples can also be heard in some parts of the recording while programmed blast beats can also be heard when the music speeds up while one track also introduces melodic chants onto the recording and as the album progresses drones can also be heard on some of the tracks.
On this recording Gnaw Their Tongues goes into more of a mixture of black metal, experimental, noise, industrial and drone. The production sounds very dark and lo-fi while the lyrics cover death, human failure, depression and hatred themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Gnaw Their Tongues and if you are a fan of black metal, experimental, noise, industrial and drone, you should check out this album.RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Purity Coffins" "Here Is No Corruption"and "Shaal be No More". 8 out of 10.
