This is a review of a 3 way split album between Greece's Twilight, Faceless God and Temple Of Katharsis called "Triarchy Of Profanation: Under Orion's Well" which was released by Askio Productions and we will start off the review with Twilight a band that plays a occult form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with some classical guitars before going into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with some atmospheric sounding keyboards also being utilized at times.
A great portion of the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched sounding black metal screams. Throughout the recording you can also heat a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them, when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a melodic style and most of their tracks are very long and epic in length. The production sounds very old and old school while the lyrics cover Occultism, Hellenic Mythology, Darkness, Space and Horror themes.
In my opinion Twilight are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Del Diablo - The Devil's Burn".
Next up is Faceless God a band that plays a satanic and occult form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast and raw sound which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing while the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era and the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
Demonic growls can also be heard at times along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are doe in a very dark and melodic style, melodic and ritualistic chants are also used briefly and a brief use of clean playing is also added on the closing track. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Evil themes.
In my opinion Faceless God are a very great sounding satanic and occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "De Occulta Philosophia".
Closing t he split is Temple Of Katharsis a band that plays a very satanic form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very dark, heavy and melodic sound while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats van also be heard.
