Nadir are a band from Norway that plays a mixture of black, sludge metal and harccore and this is a review of their self released 2020 ep "The Great Dying" which will be released in May.
A very fast and raw black metal sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostyl hardcore style screams along with the slower sections of the songs also adding in elements of sludge metal.
Thoughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the riffs also add in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies. When guitar leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style and the whole ep also sticks to a heavier direction.
Nadir plays a musical style that takes Norwegian black, sludge metal and hardcore and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Nadir are a very decent sounding mixture of black, sludge metal and hardcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tungetale" and "The Wasteland Of Man". 7/5 out of 10.
