Thine are a band from Austria that plays post black metal and this is a review of their self released 2020 ep "I: Verganglichkeit".
Nature sounds start off the ep along with some acoustic guitars a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction. All of the songs are very long and epic in length while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody as well as the vocals being mostly angry sounding black metal screams.
The songs also mix in a great amount of post metal elements while the music also has its atmospheric moments. When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling as well as the main focus being mostly on a mid tempo style, acoustic guitars also make a return on the later tracks.
Thine plays a style of post black metal that is very mid tempo sounding along with a decent amount of acoustic work. The production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics are written in German and cover misanthropy and life themes.
In my opinion Thine are a very great sounding post black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Seelenleid". 8 out of 10.
