Cage Of Creation are a band from Russia that plays an experimental and psychedelic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Into Nowhere II" which will be released on April 29th by Devoted Art Propaganda.
Tribal and shamanistic style percussion starts off the album and also gives the music more of a ritualistic atmosphere along with some acoustic guitars a few seconds later which are also used on some of the later tracks. At times the music also gets very experimental sounding along with all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Aggressive sounding spoken word parts can also be heard on some tracks while avant garde style clean singing is also added into some parts of the recording. Clean playing is also added on some of the tracks along with some grim yet depressive black metal screams also being used at times as well as a couple of the songs being very long and epic in length.
Shamanistic style chants can also be heard briefly along with the music not being as distorted and heavy as their previous releases and all of the tracks sounding very different from each other, one track also introduces whispered vocals onto the recording and when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a n avant garde style. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover moonlit nights and the thine line between meditation, death and infinity.
In my opinion Cage Of Creation are a very great sounding experimental and psychedelic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "VIII" and "XII". 8 out of 10.
