Morbid Winds are a band from Poland that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 demo "The Ruin Of Forgotten Desolation" which was released by Morbid Chapel Records.
A synth orientated intro starts off the demo before going into a heavier musical direction while the faster sections pf the songs also bring in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in the early 90's era while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. When synths are mixed in with the heavier sections it also gives the recording more of an atmospheric feeling along with a small amount of melody also being added into the guitar riffing.
Some songs also add in some slow and mid tempo sections along with some spoken word parts also being utilized briefly on a couple of the tracks and when guitar leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style. The production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover death, morbid and night themes.
In my opinion Morbid Winds are a very great sounding raw, atmospheric and old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nocturnal Portal" and "Tomb Of My Sanity". 8 out of 10.
