Trinity are a solo project that plays a very old school form of dark/ black metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Lux Aeterna" which will be released by Cippangu Productions.
Ritualistic soundscapes and synths start off the album along with a brief use of classical guitars as well as some whispered vocals and the symphonic elements also mix in with the heavier sections of the songs. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. Vocals are mostly deep yet grim black metal screams that also adds in some touches of death metal while the music is also very heavily rooted in the 90's style.
During the faster sections of the songs a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling as well as the tracks also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Some of the songs are also very long and epic in length along with some clean playing and violins also being added into certain sections of the recording as the album progresses
Some of the slower riffing also adds in a touch of doom/death metal along with some classical guitars also making a return on a couple of later tracks and the album also closes with a couple of demo tracks that also show more of a raw and traditional style of black metal. The production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover dark and blasphemous themes.
In my opinion Trinity are a very great sounding old school dark/black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blasphemy" "Fallen Angels" "Lux Aeterna" and "Sacrilege". 8 out of 10.
