Russia's L'Homme Absurde have returned with a new recording which continues the post black metal style of previous releases and this is a review of their album "Belong" which will be self released in 2020.
Clean playing and programmed beats start off the album and also introduces elements of post rock onto the recording before going into a heavier direction. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
The riffs also add in a great amount of melody while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Some of the tracks are long and epic in length along with some metalcore elements also being added into some parts of the music. Melodic vocals can also be heard briefly as well as clean playing also making a return on some of the later songs The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and emotional themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from L'Homme Absurde and if you are a fan of post black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Rot" "Departure" and "Sanctuary". 8 out of 10.
