This is a review of another recording from Canada's Unreqvited which shows the music going into more of an experimental form of post black metal and this is a review of his album "Mosaic II: la deteste et la detresse" which will be released in 2020 by Prophecy Productions.
Ambient style soundscapes and synths start off the album while acoustic guitars and programmed beats are also a dded into some parts of the recording. Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly before going into a heavier direction along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody.
Vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams along with the solos and leads being done in a very melodic style. Orchestra elements are also added into some parts of the recording while a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when t he music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some acoustic guitars and clean playing also returning on later tracks. One song also introduces some electronic music touches onto the recording as well as the music also having its experimental moments, the songs also mix in a great amount of post rock elements and there are also a couple of instrumentals. The vocals are mostly used like an musical instrument with no actual song lyrics and the production also sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Unreqvited and if you are a fan of ambient, experimental, post and depressive black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nightfall" "Disorder" and "Transience III _ The Static". 8 out of 10.
