XI are a band from Chile that plays a very satanic and occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2019 demo "Black Magic-K-aos" which was released by Nocturnal Silence.
Ritualistic soundscapes start off the demo before going into a heavier musical direction. Vocals are mostly grim black emtal screams while the riffs also add in a decent amount of dark sounding melodies and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
The music also adds in a great amount of 90's influences along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic style while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them.
XI plays a style of satanic occult black emtal that is very raw, old school and traditional sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover Satanism, Occultism, War and Chaos themes.
In my opinion Xi are a very great sounding satanic and occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cain, el rey de la muerte" and "Cruzando el abismo". 8/2 out of 10.
