Pennsylvania's Crowhurst has returned with a new recording where he takes his mixture of black metal and noise and teams up with Delaware's Bandit and mixes his style with their style of grindcore and this is a review of their self released 2020 collaboration ep "Bulldozer".
Harsh noises and death metal growls start off the ep while the faster sections of the music are very heavily rooted in grindcore. Blast beats can also be heard when the music speeds up along with the solos and leads also being done in a very chaotic style and all of the tracks are very short in length.
Power electronics are also a very huge part of the recording along with the music also mixing in a great amount of black metal elements. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them as well as some screams also being utilized at times and the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
On this recording Crowhurst teams up with Bandit and creates a musical style that takes black metal, harsh noise, power electronics and grindcore and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover violence and gore themes.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding collaboration between Crowhurst and Bandit and if you are a fan of black metal, harsh noise, power electronics, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Organ Grinder" and "False Friends". 8 out of 10.
