Necrogosto are a band from Brazil that has been featured before in this zine and plays a musical style they describe as being satanic black noise and this is a review of their 2020 ep "Ancestral Bestiality" which will be released in March by Nuclear War Now! Productions.
Dark soundscapes start off the ep before going into a heavier direction while the vocals bring in a mixture of grim black metal screams and bestial growls. The music also mixes in a great amount of 80's and 80's Brazilian along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a a lot of blast beats.
When tremolo picking is utilized it gives the music more of a raw feeling along with all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the music also brings in elements of war and thrash metal as well as a great portion of the tracks also being very short in length,
A small amount of melody can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing as well as one track also bringing ritualistic elements onto the recording before returning back to a more raw and brutal musical direction, synths can also be heard on the outro. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover satanism, blasphemy, pre-Colombian evilness, demons and mysticism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Necrogosto and if you are a fan of raw and old school black and death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Serpent Of 1000 Eyes" "Perversions At Necrotemple" and "Marching To Oblivion". 8 out of 10.
