Profeci are a band from Poland that plays a misanthropic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Matecznik" which was released by Godz Ov War Productions.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Clean vocals are also utilized at times along with the music also having its melancholic moments and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
Melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing while angry black metal screams are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording. Most of the music also brings in more of a modern style along with some blast beats also being used briefly when the music finally speeds up on a few tracks, at times the clean vocals also give the songs more of an avant garde vibe and most of the music sticks to either a slow or mid tempo style.
Profeci plays a style of misanthropic black metal that is very heavy, mid tempo, dark and modern sounding. The production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover Misanthropy, Philosophy and Nature themes.
In my opinion Profeci are a very great sounding misanthropic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ciemna Gora" "Wynaturzenie" and "Szeol". 8 out of 10.
