Infernal Angels are a band from Italy that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording plays a melodic form of occult black metal with some touches of death metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Devourer Of God From The Void" which will be released on February 28th by My Kingdom Music.
Ritualistic sounding synths start off the album before going into a heavier direction while a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length. All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them as well as the faster sections of the music also adding in a great amount of blast beats.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the tremolo picking also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Melodies can also be heard in a lot of the guitar riffing along with the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style.
Growls and death metal elements are also added into some parts of the recording as well as the music also adding in a good mixture of both old school and modern influences along with a couple of tracks also adding in some session work from Ad Noctem Funeriis, Vajass, and Necandi Homines, clean playing and melodic vocals are also added in the closing track. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover the qliphoth, the antithesis of divine light and of the cosmological orders of creation.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Infernal Angels and if you are a fan of raw and melodic occult black metal with a touch of death metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Light Of Lucifer" "Ancient Serpent Of Chaos""The Corrosive One" and "Empress Of Sitra Achra". 8 out of 10.
