Efemero is a solo project from Portugal that plays an atmospheric of ambient black metal and this is a review of their 2020 album "Movimento Efemero do Cosmos" which will be released in March by Loudriver Records.
Ambient style synths start off the album which also uses a variety of many different sounding keys and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times while most of the tracks are very long and epic in length. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
At times the music also gets very atmospheric sounding while the music also adds in a good amount of orchestra elements. Melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing along with a couple of tracks also adding in a brief use of spoken word parts, all of the music sticks to a slower direction and as the album progresses a brief use of melodic guitar leads can also be heard.
Eferero plays a style of ambient black metal that is very slow, atmospheric and epic sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Portuguese and cover cosmic, nature and melancholic themes.
In my opinion Efemero are a very great sounding atmospheric ambient black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Desvanecer" and "Antartica". 8 out of 10.
