Buoingola are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of atmospheric black metal, sludge and industrial and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Dope L, Apnea".
"Persevero" begins with with some distorted parts and spoken word samples which leads up to some heavy guitar riffs and drums and a minute later aggressive vocals make their way into the song along with the guitars and drums getting slightly more aggressive before also adding in spoken word parts with the growls which leads up to the song adding in some atmospheric black metal parts.
"In Mani Vuote" begins with with some drum beats before adding in some guitars, bass, drums and vocals before speeding up with some black metal riffs and blast beats being utilized for a few seconds before going to a slow sludge pace but the faster elements do return at times and as the song moves on there are some melodic parts being thrown into the music.
"Candida" begins with some heavy bass guitar riffs and drums which lead to some primitive black metal riffs which lead up to the vocals kicking in and then the song switches back and forth between slow and fast parts and after a couple of minutes the bass guitars take over for a few seconds before the regular guitars come in and make the music heavier.
"Rigurgito" begins with some sound effects and synths which bring in some atmospheric and industrial elements and a minute later drums and spoken word parts make their way into the song and after awhile the vocals start kicking in before the heavy guitar and bass riffs make their way into the song.
'Oceano" begins with some atmospheric and nature sounds and after awhile drum beats make their way into the song which leads up to some spoken word parts and as the song moves on noise effects make their way into the song as well as some aggressive vocals and heavy guitar riffs a minute later which also leads up to some black metal riffs being utilized for a few seconds before slowing down and adding in some heavy bass guitars and clean playing and then the black metal elements start coming in and out and the song and album closes with some clean parts.
Song lyrics are written in Latin and cover dark and depressive themes, while the production has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording and the last song is very long and epic in length..
In my opinion Buoingola are a very great sounding hybrid of atmospheric black metal, sludge and industrial and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t his band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Persevero" and "Candida". RECOMMENDED BUY.
