Vent d' Automne are a 1 man band from India that plays a very experimental form of black metal and this is a review of his 2012 ep "Everything Is Fading Away" which was released by Cvlminis.
"Escaping The Crowd" begins with some slow and primitive post black metal guitar riffs which leads up to some programmed beats and high pitched screams and you can hear elements of shoegaze being utilized in the song as well as some experimental sound effects in the background and the song closes with some soft sounding ambient synths.
"Big City Depression" begins with some soft sounding acoustic guitar playing which utilizes both finger picking and full chords and a few seconds alter fast, raw and primitive guitar riffs, drum programming and grim sounding depressive black metal s creams start kicking before the music starts slowing down for a few seconds before going back to the cleaner parts for a short time before adding in some heavy and melodic guitar riffing before going back to being fast and primitive again.
"I Dream Of Flying Away" begins with some clean acoustic guitar playing which has a an avant garde feeling to them before adding in some synths, fast and primitive guitar riffs, programmed drum b eats and clean singing melodic female vocals and the song closes with some atmospheric and dark ambient sounding synths.
"Beautiful Urban Panic" begins with the sounds of people walking and talking before adding in some drone sounding guitar riffs along with some programmed beats a few seconds later and the music is all instrumental and you can hear sound effects throughout the song.
Song lyrics cover filthy urban life, isolation and agoraphobia , while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Vent d, Automne are a very great sounding experimental black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE ""Escaping The Crowd" and "I Dream Of Flying Away". RECOMMENDED BUY.
