Nethervoid are a band from Iowa that plays a very atmospheric, melodic, raw and primitive form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their self released 2006 demo "Templar Of The Judas Goat".
"Besom" begins with some sounds of rain and a few seconds later soft acoustic guitars make their way into the song before the slow, melodic, and heavy guitar riffs along with some synths and drums start kicking in and then the music goes into a fast, raw and primitive direction along with some grim sounding high pitched black metal vocals before going into a more mid paced direction and then s witching back and forth between mid paced and fast parts and halfway into the song slower parts are added in.
"Infernal Dawn" begins with some fast drum beats and raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar riffs which lead up to some high pitched screams , melodic guitar riffing and powerful sounding bass guitars and halfway through the song the music slows down a bit and adds in some acoustic guitars for a few seconds before going back to being fast and primitive and then slowing down again and adding in some doom metal elements and then t he song closes with some fast riffs.
"Sulfurous Dusk" begins with some melodic guitar riffs and dark sounding synths and then the drums, bass guitars and black metal vocals start kicking in and halfway through the song there is a brief use of death metal growls being utilized which leads to the drums getting a little bit more fast along with some primitive guitar riffs.
''Altar Of The Flesh" begins with some dark sounding synths and a few seconds some primitive guitar and bass riffs along with some fast drumming starts kicking in which leads up to the black metal screams and halfway through the song the music goes into a slower direction for a few seconds before getting fast again and then s witching back and forth between slow and fast parts as well as adding in more synths.
'Beyond The Pyres" begins with some acoustic guitars and synths and this song is all instrumental.
Song lyrics cover Satanism, Darkness and Occult themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Nethervoid are a very great sounding atmospheric, melodic, raw and primitive sounding satanic black metal, you should check out t his demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Infernal Dawn' and "Altar Of The Flesh". RECOMMENDED BUY.
