This is a review of another recording from Harassor which continues their hybrid sound of black metal, crust and punk with the album being called "Night On My Side: The Bruno Sessions" which was released in 2012 by Universal Consciousness.
"Night On My Side" begins with some crust/black metal style guitar riffs and drums and a high seconds later the high pitched screams start kicking in and after awhile the music goes more into a mid paced direction.
"M.D.P" begins with some old school sounding black metal guitar riffs and drums and then the grim sounding screams start making their presence known along with some powerful bass guitars before adding in some primitive elements.
"In Death" begins with some fast and primitive sounding black metal guitar riffs, blast beats from drums and high pitched screams with the song being under a minute.
"B.T.A" begins with some thrash influenced guitar riffs, drums and high pitched screams and a minute alter the music gets more fast and primitive sounding along with some blast beats before returning to its opening riff.
"Overcoming Anatomy" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums along with some grim sounding high pitched screams and the song stays in an old school sounding mid paced direction till the end.
"Ildjarn Is Dead" begins with some primitive sounding black metal guitar riff, drums and high pitched screams before going into a faster direction for a few seconds and adding in a brief use of blast beats.
"Increased Decay" begins with some old school and melodic sounding guitar riffs before getting a lot heavier along with some drums and black metal screams which leads to the song going into a more fast and primitive direction as well as adding in melody in certain sections of the guitar riffing and also putting in small amounts of blast beats, as time goes on by the music goes into a slower direction.
"Devoured By Time" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums which leads to the music going into an old school metal direction along with some grim sounding screams and the song is all mid paced.
"Frozen Soil" begins with some primitive guitar riffs and drums before going into a more fast and primitive direction along with some blast beats and black metal screams and towards the end mid paced elements are added into the song.
"Path Of Self-Cannibalization" begins with grim sounding black metal screams and fast, raw and primitive guitar riffs along with some drums and you can also hear some crust and grin elements in certain parts of the song and towards the end there are some blast beats and deep growls being utilized.
"Rebellion" begins with some melodic guitar and bass riffs along with some drums and a few seconds alter grim sounding screams start making their presence before before going into a more heavy and primitive direction.
"The Harassor" begins with some crust punk style guitar riffs and then the drums and grindcore growls start kicking in along with some primitive bass guitars and black metal screams and the song is only a minute.
"Untitled" begins with some drone sounds and after awhile the music gets a lot heavier along with some drums and grim black metal screams and after awhile there is a brief use of blast beats being utilized.
Song lyrics cover hatred for humanity themes, while the production has a very dark, r aw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Harassor and if you are a fan of black metal mixed with punk and crust, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Night On My Side" "Frozen Soil" and "The Harassor". RECOMMENDED BUY.
