Horn Of Dagoth where a band from San Francisco, California that played a very raw and primitive form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2007 demo "Rehearsal II".
"Impotent God Of Jealousy" begins with some dark, raw and primitive black metal guitar riffs that are very fast along with some drums that utilize blast beats and then t he grim high pitched screams start kicking in and after awhile the guitar riffing starts utilizing some thrash influences before going into a more mid paced direction.
''Fastooned With With Snakes And Bereavement" begins with some slow and dark sounding guitar riffs and drums which lead up to some black metal screams and then the music starts getting more fast and primitive sounding for a few seconds before returning back to a slower direction.
"Sign Of The Mark'' begins with some fast, raw and primitive guitar riffs and drums and a few seconds later the screams start kicking in and after a couple of minutes it starts going into a more mid paced direction for a few seconds before returning back to its fast and primitive roots.
"Tree Of Woe" begins with some slow, dark and heavy guitar riffs along with some drums and a few seconds alter the grim black metal screams start kicking in along with some depressive elements and after a couple of minutes the music starts getting more fast and primitive along with some blast beats along with some old school black metal elements and towards the end it goes back into a slower direction.
''The Bravest Path Of Eternity" begins with some fast, raw and primitive black metal guitar riffs along with some blast beats and high pitched screams and then the music starts adding in some old school early 90's influences before going into a slower direction for a few seconds and then adding in some mid paced sections.
''Fleeting Steed Of Death" begins with some fast, raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar riffs, drums and grim black metal vocals which leads up to some mid paced sections while also speeding up in some parts.
"Thunder Of Hoof And Steel" begins with heavy guitar riffs and drums along with some melodic and old school black metal riffing which leads up to some high pitched screams and towards the end it starts getting faster along with some blast beats and dark sounding melodies for a few seconds before going back into a slower direction.
Song lyrics cover darkness, occult, and anti christian themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it with the bass guitars being mixed down low in the mix.
In my opinion Horn Of Dagoth where a very great sounding raw and primitive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Impotent God Of Jealousy" "Sign Of The Mark" and "Thunder Of Hoof And Steel". RECOMMENDED BUY.
