This is another review of a recording from Nethervoid with the musical style being an atmopheric, melodic, raw and primitive form of black metal with the album being self released in 2008 and called "Sirens Of The Blistering Light".
"Sirens Of The Blistering Lights" begins with some fast, raw and primitive guitar riffs, blast beats and high pitched screams before going into an early 90's old school mid paced black metal direction and then switching back and forth between fast and mid paced parts as well as adding melody in certain sections of the song and you can also hear the bass guitars in the background and towards the end the music slows down and adds in death metal growls and synths.
"Wyrm Of World's End" begins with some fast and primitive guitar and bass riffing, blast beats and atmospheric synths before slowing down and adding in some melodic guitar riffing and then getting fast again and adding in the black metal screams and after awhile the music starts switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
''The Nethers Nativity" begins with some fast and melodic guitar riffs along with some blast beats before slowing down and adding in some synths and black metal screams and then the song starts switching back and forth between fast and slow parts.
''Southern Convex" begins with some acoustic guitars which utilize some finger picking before adding in some fast, heavy and primitive guitar riffs along with some drums and you can hear the bass in the background while the acoustics also stay around for a few seconds before the music slows down and adds in some black metal screams which leads to the music switching back and forth between slow and fast parts while also mixing in some slow sections along with some melodic guitar riffing being utilized at times and halfway through the song synths start making their presence known which also leads to the acoustic guitars returning and guitar leads being added into the mix.
"Of This Sacred Circle" begins with some fast, old school raw and primitive guitar riffs and drums and after awhile thrash elements and black metal screams start coming into the song and you can hear some powerful sounding bass guitars being utilized along with some of the guitar riffing utilizing some dark sounding melodies.
"Vines In A Virgin Body" begins with some slow guitar riffs, drums and grim sounding black metal screams before adding in some fast and melodic guitar riffing along with some blast beats and bass guitars and then t he song starts switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
"Six Towering Pillars" begins with some old school black metal guitar riffs, drums and high pitched screams before going into a more fast and primitive direction and halfway through the song thrash elements are added in as long as the bass guitars adding more power to their sound and the song slows down towards the end.
"1000 Hands Of The Assidous Spider" begins with some atmospheric synths and melodic guitar riffs as well as some drums and few seconds alter the music starts getting more heavy, fast and primitive sounding along with some blast beats and black metal screams before switching back and forth between slow and fast parts and halfway through the song there is a brief use of acoustic guitars being utilized as well as some dark and melodic guitar leads being used towards the end of the song.
Song lyrics cover Satanism, Darkness and Occult themes, while the production has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Nethervoid and if you are a fan of atmospheric, melodic, old school raw and primitive black metal, you should check out this album.
