Crown Of Twilight are a band from Poland that plays an instrumental, raw and primitive form of ambient black metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Mist".
"Labyrinths Of Unrest" begins with some dark ambient sounding synths and serves as an intro for the ep.
"Moon Setting Over The Forest" with some slow black metal guitars riffs and drums beats with the synths coming into the background shortly after that and towards the end the synths take over and take the song into a dark ambient direction.
"Mist (I)" begins with some fast, raw and primitive black metal guitar riffs and drum beats before the synths start making their presence known while also keeping around the drums and guitars and a few seconds later it starts going into a slower direction before switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
"Into The Cold Unknown" begins with some dark sounding ambient synths and this song remains in that direction and is a little bit under 2 minutes.
"Lost In The Caverns Of Hatred" begins with some slow and primitive black metal guitar riffs and drum beats and a minute later the synths start making their way into the song and brings in dark ambient elements.
"Cold Swamps And Black Rivers" begins with some black metal guitar riffs that are mixed down in the mix along with some drums and then the dark ambient synths make their presence known in the background of the song.
"Mist(II)" begins with some dark ambient sounding synths and there are no guitars present on this song.
Song themes cover darkness, nature and forest themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Crown Of Twilight are a very great sounding instrumental, raw and primitive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep.
