Sangus Legionaris are a band from Rhode Island and New York that plays black metal with elements of thrash and crust and this is a review of their 2013 ep "Vengeful Brutality" which was released by FORZAMORTE.
"Bone Collector" begins with some powerful sounding bass guitars and drums before the primitive black/thrash guitar riffs start kicking in along with some grim sounding screams and crust influenced guitar riffing and after awhile t he music slows down for awhile and adds in a brief use of 70's sounding guitar solos and leads before getting more brutal along with some blast beats.
"Gaspipe" begins with some drums and heavy guitar riffs before getting more fast and primitive along with some black metal screams and blast beats which also lead up to some melodic sounding guitar leads as well as switching back and forth between slow and fast parts and after awhile the crust and punk elements come in along with a brief use of deep grind growls.
"Si Brucera" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums before adding in some blast beats, faster riffing, guitar leads, screams and growls which leads up to the music going into a more heavier and primitive direction and towards the end the music for a little bit before gettting fast again along with some blast beats.
Song lyrics cover violent themes, while the production has a very heavy, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Sangus Legio are a very great sounding hybrid of black metal, crust and thrash and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Gaspipe". RECOMMENDED BUY.
