Terraforms are a band from New Jersey that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 ep "Aokigahara".
"The Sounds Of Night" begins with some clean acoustic guitar playing which utilizes some full chords and a few seconds later synths start coming into the song along with some percussion and the song is mostly instrumental and the song closes with nature sounds.
'Tempus Mutatio" begins with the sounds of the night along with some experimental effects and after awhile atmospheric black metal guitar riffs and drums start making their way into the music along with some blast beats and melodic guitar riffs which slow down the song a bit and after awhile the music starts switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
"Oculos Abyssi" begins with some fast, raw and primitive black metal guitar riffs and drums which lead up to some black metal screams and then the song starts switching back and forth between slow and fat parts as well as adding in some melodic guitar riffing and spoken word parts as well as some blast beats and the song closes with nature sounds.
Song lyrics cover darkness and nature themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Terraforms are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Oculos Abyssi"". RECOMMENDED BUY.
