This is a review of another recording from Sxuperion with the musical style this time around being a raw and primitive form of war themed black metal with the ep being recorded in 2003 and called "Third War".
"At The Gate" begins with distorted guitar riffs before going into a more fast and primitive direction along with some blast beats and dark sounding melodies and after awhile you can hear some guitar leads in certain sections of the song and then the grim and high pitched black metal screams start kicking in and at times the music slows down a bit and you can hear some deeper vocals being utilized and towards the end there is a brief spoken word parts before a chaotic sounding guitar lead kicks in.
'Third War" begins with some spoken word samples before some slow black metal guitar riffs, drum beats and atmospheric sounding synths start coming in and after a minute black metal vocals start coming into the song and the music starts getting a lot more fast along with some blast beats.
'Dead" begins with some war sounds before some dark and melodic heavy guitar riffs and leads start coming in which leads up to some drum beats and some grim black metal screams a few seconds alter before the drums start speeding up a bit.
Song lyrics cover war, death and dark themes, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion this is another great sounding ep from Sxuperion and if you are a fan of raw and primitive black metal with war themes, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "At The Gate". RECOMMENDED.
