Spain's Sartegos have returned with a new recording which continues their satanic and occult mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "On Sangue Da Noite" which will be released in November as a joint effort between Blood Harvest and I, Voidhanger Records.
Synths start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction while the riffs also use a decent amount of dark sounding melodies. When the music speeds up tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the vocals also bringing in a mixture of black metal screams and death emtal growls.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the solos and leads being done in a very dark and melodic style. A couple of the tracks are also very long and epic in length as well as all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them.
A couple of tracks also adds in a brief use of clean playing and melodic chants onto the recording and as the album progresses synths also make a brief return on a few songs back keeping the main focus on a heavier direction. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are written in Galician and cover Satanism, Baphomet, Occultism and Galician folklore and myths.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sartegos and if you are a fan of satanic and occult black and death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sangue e Noite" "Arqueiro" and "Baphomet no Rashulmat". 8 out of 10.
