Tragic Death are a band form Wisconsin that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording plays a melodic mixture of black, death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2019 ep "Born Of Dying Embers" which will be released on October 25th.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals also bring in a mixture of high pitched black metal screams and deep death metal growls while synths are also mixed in with the heavier sections of the music and all of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
The riffs also add in a decent amount of melody while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Elements of thrash metal are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording as well as some clean playing and classical guitars also being added into some parts of the music, you can also hear a touch of doom metal in the slower sections of the songs and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style.
On this recording Tragic Death introduces synths into their melodic mixture of black, death and thrash metal to take their sound to another level. The production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Occultism, Armageddon, Destruction and Chaos themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Tragic Death and if you are a fan of melodic black, death and thrash metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Apparitions". 8 out of 10.
