Douaumont are a duo from Minnesota that plays a very progressive and dissonant mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Chironrx Fleckeri" which was released by Pale Noise Media.
A very fast and brutal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats. while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style. Vocals bring in a mixture of black emtal screams and death metal growls along with the bass guitars being used as a lead instrument.
The music also brings in a great amount of progressive and dissonant elements along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. A decent amount of distorted sounding melodies are also added into certain sections of the recording and at time s the music also adds in some avant garde structures and as the album progresses a brief use of clean vocals can be heard.
Douaumont plays a musical style that mixes progressive, black and death metal together with some dissonant elements to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Douaumont are a very great sounding progressive and dissonant mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tongues Of Dust" "Ossuary Of Chalice" and "Sea of Fabrication". 8 out of 10.
