Alastor Sanguianary Embryo are a band from Costa Rica that plays a satanic and occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "For Satan And the Ruin Of The Divine" which was released as a joint effort between Satanath Records, More Hate Productions and Darzamadicus Records.
A very fast, raw, melodic and atmospheric black metal sound starts off the ep along with some grim screams and blast beats and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with synths being brought into the music which also gives the music more of an atmospheric feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
A great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and death growls can also be heard at times and the solos and leads also remain very true to a melodic style of black metal while some of the riffs also bring in a touch of traditional metal and the music is very heavily rooted in the mid 90's style of European black metal and the keyboards also bring in ambient elements in some parts of the songs while the spoken word parts which are only used briefly are very ritualistic sounding
Alastor Sanguinary Embryo plays a style of black metal that brings back a lot of the keyboard dominated style of the mid 90's while also having more of a modern twist, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Anti Christian themes.
In my opinion Alastor Sanguinary Embryo are a very great sounding keyboard orientated satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording.
