Kolac are a band from Serbia that plays a very raw and blasphemous form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Zauvek Crni" which was released by Grom Records.
A very fast, raw and melodic black metal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats and a touch of thrash elements before adding in grim screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Most of the music focuses more on the heavier side of black metal bringing in some modern elements while the main influence seems to be the 90's second wave style when solos and leads are utilized they are very melodic sounding and bring a Swedish feeling onto the recording and as the album progresses the vocals start adding in more high pitched screams and the whole album s ticks to a very heavy and r aw style of black metal from beginning to ending of the recording.
Kolac plays a musical style that takes the raw, thrashy, fast and melodic styles of black metal and mixes them together to create an album that is a 100 percent true to the genre, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics are written in a mixture of Serbian and English and cover satanic and blasphemous themes.
In my opinion Kolac are a very great sounding raw and blasphemous black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Zauvek Crni" "Intolerant Killing Spree" "I Am The Devil" and "Mary (The God Raped)". 8 out of 10.
