Disheartenment are a band from Sweden that plays a mixture of depressive black metal and doom and this is a review of their self released 2015 single "Entombed By Grief".
A very dark, raw and depressive black metal sound starts off the single along with a great amount of melodic riffing that is also very heavily influenced by doom metal and after awhile grim yet deep growls are added into the music and the first track brings in quest vocals by Karhmul from 'Abandoned By Light".
Clean playing can also be heard at times while the main focus remains more on a heavy and melodic musical style and the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody and both of the tracks stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction.
Disenheartenmnet plays a musical style that takes a depressive style of black metal and mixes it in with the more melodic side of early 90's doom metal metal to create a style of their own, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover cold and depressive themes.
In my opinion Disenheartenment are a very great sounding mixture of depressive black metal and doom and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Entombed By grief". 8 out of 10.
